Prof. Anand R. Bhalerao Born on 21 November 1963. He obtained the Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangali in 1985 and Post Graduation in 1990 and Ph. D. in Hydraulics Engineering in 2004 from University of Pune. He has total 23 years of experience in teaching. He started his career as Lecturer in Civil Engineering Department of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra and rose to the position of Head of that department. Presently he is rendering his services as Principal to the Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering, Pune. He has more than 17 research papers to his credit at national and international conferences and in reputed journals. He has participated in number of conferences and symposiums. Also he has organized around 4 Summer / Winter Schools on various topics for the faculty and students. 17 students have completed P. G. under his guidance. Presently 5 candidates are pursuing their Ph. D. under his guidance. He is also instrumental in testing and consultancy work for government and private organizations. He has rendered his expertise as consultant for various private organizations such as Kirloskar Pumps, Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. etc. resulting in generating funds more than Rs. 10 Lakhs from testing and consultancy for his institution. He has submitted detailed project report to Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) for the installation of wind power station at Gude-Panchgani in Sangali district of Maharashtra. He has also submitted the detailed project report to Government of Maharashtra for alternative alignment to Katraj Ghat on N. H. 4 on BOT basis. In view of sharing knowledge and serve technical community, he became the life member of many professional bodies such as Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Environmental Association, Indian Road Congress, Pune Construction Engineering & Research Foundation, Pune and Institution of Engineers. He is presently Vice-President of Indian Society of Hydraulics.  He was instrumental in getting accreditation to the institution. The college was accredited to grade “A” by NAAC, Bangalore and all the courses of the institution are accredited by NBA, New Delhi. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards such as ISTE Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan National Award for Best Engineering College Principal – 2006, Jewel of India Award in Chosen Field given by International Soc. of Education & Management, New Delhi, Blood Donation Organizer Award by Government of Maharashtra, Shikshak Gaurav Puraskar by Pune Muncipal Corporation and Mr. Engineer – 05 conferred by Institution of Engineers for his excellent work in education and R & D field. Due to the globalization of education field, India is now open to all foreign universities, which results in very tough competition for Indian universities. To cope up this situation he drive the special task which resulted in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with other institutes like North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, USA & University of Venice, Italy for faculty development and exchange programme. To strengthen the Industry-Institute relation he took extra efforts and signed the MoUs with Actel Corporation USA to establish ultra modern VLSI Laboratory for post-graduate students, with Infosys India under Campus Connect Programme. To enhance the employability of the students, he developed liaison with ‘Oracle’ to start Work Force Development Centre for the training of students in Oracle. He has attended training programme in “Advanced Composite Materials Processing, Characterization and Modeling” at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, USA during May 4 2008 to June 3 2008. He started various short-term training programmes by signing the MoUs with United Consulting Engineers to conduct STAD PRO training programme, Shri Gurudeo Enviro Services Pvt. Ltd. to conduct course on water quality management, Vast Engineering Pvt. Ltd. to conduct CAD / CAM courses and CMC Ltd. Mumbai for various courses in I.T. He has been elected as Member of Executive Council and Vice President of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) Maharashtra & Goa Section for 2004 – 2008. He is Dean of Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Member of Academic Council and Board of Studies of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. He is also rendering his services as Member of Faculty of Engineering & Technology and Member of Board of Studies of Civil Engineering of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada Univeristy, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
