Right from its inception, the University has put a premium on research. The university believes that one of its mandates is to critically evaluate existing knowledge and to create new knowledge and so it gives encouragement in every possible way to the research activities on its various campuses.
The real strength of the present developed countries lies in the fact that they have created tremendous capabilities of creating new knowledge through research activities. Realizing this growing significance of research, BVDU is providing all facilities for research on its campuses.
It is pertinent to mention here that the University has launched various research projects independently, as well as, in collaboration with other research organizations and industries. Special care has been taken while selecting themes of research and to tune them changing societal need. Read more…

Eligibility criteria for admissions

A candidate will be considered eligible for admission to Ph. D. Programme in the subject or in the allied subject inwhich he / she obtained a Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST category students) from a recognized University.

The candidate working in the National Laboratories, Govt. Research Institutes, and Registered Private Organizations having the above qualifications will also be considered eligible for admission for a Ph. D. Programme provided he / she is nominated / sponsored by the employer. He / She will have to submit “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from the employer.

The existing rules of eligibility prescribe by various Statutory Councils for admissions to research degree will also be applicable to admission to Ph. D. Programme of this University.

Only the predetermined number of the students shall be admitted to Ph. D. Programmes. The University shall publish a brochure giving information about Entrance Test, Syllabus etc., and will make it available to candidates.

Though who will qualify themselves in the Entrance Test will have to appear for an Interview to be conducted by University, in which their Areas of research interest will be discussed.

A candidate who qualifies himself / herself in the entrance test as well as in the interview conducted by the University will be initially admitted to Ph. D. Programme on provisional basis. His / Her admission will be confirmed only when He / She fulfills the other conditions for admission.

A candidate who satisfies any of the following shall be exempted from appearing an Entrance Test.
- a. If He / She is declared qualified in Gate / SET / NET / JF / JRF examination conducted CSIR / UGC / ICAR / ICMR / DBT only.
- b. Foreign / NRI / PIO candidates will be exempted from appearing for All India Entrance Test conducted for admissions to Ph. D. Programme. However, he / she will have to appear for the interview wherein his / her areas of research interest will be discussed. After successful interview he / she will be provisionally admitted to Ph. D. Programme in the concerned subject.
- c. Candidate thus exempted will have to submit the Registration form to the University before appearing for an Interview within stipulated duration with relevant supporting documents.
- The candidate declared as a qualified shall submit the prescribed application form for the admission to the course duly filled in and signed along with the prescribed fee and the following documents.
- An authenticated copy of statement of marks and degree certificated (U. G., P. G. degree etc.)
- Migration / Transference Certificate
- An authenticated copy of certificate of professional experience along with copies of his / her published research work in the proposed area.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer, if the candidate is employed.
