Production Engineering Department was established in the year 1983. This is one of few departments to be established in the University of Pune, to which this college was affiliated from 1983 to 2000.

The workshop is the part of Production Engineering Department and it is having 2134 sq.mts area with different facilities spread over three floor.

Production Engineering Department has received grant of Rs. Five Lakhs from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi for development of Non-Traditional Machining Processes Laboratory under MODROBS Scheme. Also a DST Project of 18 Lakhs has been received for further research in Non-Traditional Machining processes laboratory.
One staff members are doing research work at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur for his Ph.D Work. College has sponsored staff members under the Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) and one of the staff member has gone for PhD in USA.
Our metallurgy lab has all the facilities required for inspection and testing of materials.

Conferences and workshops organized

Production Department organizes National level paper presentation and project exhibitions for students every year. This event is known as Incarnation for which students have developed web site http.www.bvpesa.org.
The Project under DST titled “Enhancement of surface finish of Electrochemically drilled deep holes” has received a grant of Rs.21,54,000. The project is going to be handled from our department by Prof.M V Sulakhe and Prof. P V Jadhav.

Students Achievements

Mr Vaidya Amit Subhash a student of BE Production, secured best design award for his project titled “Computer Aided Design and Analysis of car seat “ at Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) National Convention 2006, sponsored by Kerala Government Engineering Design National Award -2006. Prof K C Thakur guided the Project.
