The Inaugural Ceremony of Bharatiyam 2013, national level techno cultural festival on 15th March, 2013 witnessed the distinguished presence of Mr Arun Firodia, Chairman of Kinetic Group as the chief guest, Dr. U. B. Bhoite, ex-Vice Chancellor, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University as guest of honor and Dr. P. M. Bulakh, BCUD, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. The inauguration environment was already overflowing with zeal and extravaganza and the arrival of guests added a new excitement to the young student crowd.
The ceremony started with a short documentary showing the glimpse of months of untiring efforts & activities put in by the entire team of Bharatiyam 2013. The video further boosted up the spirits of organizing team as well as the vast number of participants eagerly awaiting the start of event. Following it Principal, Dr. Anand Bhalerao, presented short opening & welcome address.
In his address, Dr. Anand Bhalerao expressed his pride to be heading an institute like Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering. He mentioned that innovation is the factor that distringuishes between leader and follower and its this innovation that has become the hallmark of the institute. He mentioned that the slogan “Dare to Dream” of Bharatiyam 2013 is true to its innovative events practices and achieving an iconic status for the institute. He informed the gathering that total 3000 students from more than 100 colleges all over the country, have registered for the various events of Bharatiyam 2012. He introduced and appreciated the august presence of the eminent guests. He also mentioned a few achievements of the university and institute. The prominent among them is that Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University is the only university in state of Maharashtra to be Accreditated ‘A’ grade by NAAC and one of only eight universities in India to get ‘A’ grade in the review process. The institute has been successful in maintaining its position in the top 50 technical schools of India for the consecutive 6 years and this year it has stepped up to the 19th Rank. The feather in the cap for the institute is being selected for the grant of Rs. 4 crores received as a grant from TEQUIP II. This selection is done by MHRD and World Bank and out of the 250 eligible short listed institutes only 20 are selected. Wishing Bharatiyam 2013 a great success he concluded saying that BVDUCOE will continue cementing its place in the national arena with its rich tradition in technical excellence.
As per the tradition of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering, the guests were felicitated with shawl, shreephal, bouquet and memento. Dr. U. B. Bhoite felicitated Mr Arun Firodia. Dr. Anand Bhalerao felicitated Dr. U. B. Bhoite and Dr. P. M. Bulakh. The traditional lamp lighting ceremony, technicalized as switching on electric lamps via a remote, by the hands of chief guest and invocation of Goddess Saraswati, marked the start of inaugural ceremony. “Genre” the annual magazine that brings forth the literary merit of young engineers of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering was released by the hands of Mr. Arun Firodia. This was followed with the felicitation of Joint secretaries of all the departments, sports, art circle and treasurers of Bharatiyam. The best marketing team from Chemical department, editorial team, publicity team and the representatives of various sponsors associated with Bharatiyam were also felicitate by the hands of Dr. U. B. Bhoite and Dr. P. M. Bulakh.
Following this was the mesmerizing speech of Mr. Arun Firodia. This was followed by the address of Dr. U. B. Bhoite. He said that BVDUCOE is a vibrant centre of activities in every field. He congratulated everyone from the institute for the thoughtfulness to organize Bharatiyam which has technical as well as cultural component. For this, he said,it is needed to nurture our other potentials and enjoy different sources of joy in life. He said that we have strong creative impulse to create something innovative and distinct. Research and development should not be just in science and technology but also in cultural and literature fields also. This ensures a full-fledge personality he said. He said that the stress in today’s life is because one sided personality which gives importance to technical competence. He concluded saying that cultural and human components should not be forgotten whilst embracing technology. He expressed his wishes for a grand success of Bharatiyam 2013.
Prof. Sandeep Vanjale then expressed his vote of thanks where he thanked all the faculty members and students of BVDUCOE for the meticulous efforts to make Bharatiyam a success. The inauguration ceremony then concluded with the national anthem.
After the inauguration, followed the technical events organized by every department. There were in all 16 technical events organized by the departments separately and 4 cultural events organized by art circle. Civil department had organized the technical events Try mind and rise of Phoenix. Try Mind had total 7 participants, all from BVUCOEP and 1st prize winners of Rs.2500/- were Ankit Verma and Nischal Pandey from BVUCOEP, and 2nd prize winner was Prasoon Tripathi from BVUCOEP. Rise of Phoenix had total 15 participants, 4 from other institutes and 11 from BVUCOEP. Pranav Aggarwal, Anik gupta and Prashant Kumar from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.3000. Aniket and Prathmesh from BVJNIOT won the 2nd prize of Rs.2000/-.
IT department had organized Tech Avengers and Techno Thon. Tech Avengers had total 11 participants out of which 9 were from BVUCOEP and 2 were from other institute. Sawal Malhotra and Pradyot Mayan from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.2500. Santosh Mani and Yashwardhan Sisodiya from BVUCOEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 1500. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 1000 were Shivanshu Nautiyal and Akshay Vajpayee from BVUCOEP. For Techno Thon, there were total 56 particpants out of which 51 were from BVUCOEP and 5 were from other institutes. Ojasvi and Prachi from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.2500. Bhavik and Ankit from BVUCOEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 1500. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 1000 were Steffi Gogol and Rishika Dhar from Wadia COE.
Electronics department had organized Robo artistry and Mind Freakers. Robo artistry had total 4 participants from SITS Narhe. Rajesh mourya and Rohit kadam from SITS Narhe won 1st prize of Rs.3000. Sumit patil and Amar Sakpal from SITS Narhe won 2nd prize of Rs. 2000. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 1000 were Shivanshu Nautiyal and Akshay Vajpayee from BVUCOEP. For Mind Freakers, there were total 21 particpants from BVUCOEP. Sameer, Kunal, Nikhil from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.1000. Mukul Sharma, Bhanupratap, Arpit from BVUCOEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 500. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 250 were Himanshu Rauniyar and Ishank Singh from BVUCOEP.
Production department had organized Robo Maze and Robo Maze Combat. Robo Maze combat had total 7 participants, all from other institutes. Shrinivas Mitragotri, Santosh Sangale from Sinhgad COE won 1st prize of Rs.7000. , Raman Madane and Vijay bamane from Sinhgad COEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 4000. For Robo maze, there were total 5 particpants, all from other institutes. Praksh Suryawanshi from BVJNIOT won 1st prize of Rs.2000.
Electronics and E&TC department had organized Circuits Reloaded. It had total 15 participants out of which 13 were from other institutes and 3 from BVUCOEP. Kruti Patel, Smrity jamnar, Gauri from Cummins COE Pune won 1st prize of Rs.3000. Trupti Chavan, Jayesh Shitole, Nitin Limbhor from PICT Pune won 2nd prize of Rs. 2000. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 1000 were Ticky Kr. Singh, Tarun Singh Negi, Vinod Kumar from BVUCOEP.
Chemical department had organized Symposium and Mind It. Mind It had total 75 participants, 67 from BVUCOEP and 8 from other institutes. Aakash Gupta from BVUCOEP, Twarnit Suman from BVUCOEP, Divya Saini from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.3000, 2nd prize of Rs. 2000 and 3rd prize of Rs. 1000 respectively. For Symposium, there were total 43 particpants, 35 from BVUCOEP and 8 from other institutes. Narendra Pal and Nafisa Mandiwala from PICT won 1st prize of Rs.3000. Arush Saxena and Chetali tyagi from BVUCOEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 2000. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 1000 were Aditya bhongle, Yatin Choudhari, Sagar Nihalani Singh from SCOE Pune.
Mechanical department had organized AutoCad and Robo Race. AutoCad had total 10 participants, 5 from BVUCOEP and 5 from other institute. Kishor Patil from BVUCOEP, Ayush Kumar from BVUCOEP, Animesh Goel from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.3000, 2nd prize of Rs. 2000 and 3rd prize of Rs. 1000 respectively. For Robo Race, there were total 48 particpants, 40 from BVUCOEP and 8 from other institutes. Ninad Dharmadhikari from G.H. Raisoni COE, Wagholi, won 1st prize of Rs.7000. Kishor Patil from BVUCOEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 4000. 3rd prize winners of Rs. 2000 was Praful Kadam from BVUCOEP.
Sprint, organized by Computer department had total 10 participants, 8 from BVUCOEP and 2 from other institute. Narendra Pal from PICT, Varsha Dhumal from BV COEW, Niha Palkar from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.3000, 2nd prize of Rs. 2000 and 3rd prize of Rs. 1000 respectively.
Electrical department had organized Technomania and Chakravyuh. Technomania had total 37 participants, 36 from BVUCOEP and 1 from other institute. Piyush Kumar Garg and Prashant from BVUCOEP won 1st prize of Rs.3000. Rutuja Kurle from BVUCOEP and Pranali Garg from Universal COE Pune won 2nd prize of Rs. 2000. Sheetal Jain, Kathan Shah, Saurav Tiwari, Ravi Shekhar from BVUCOEP won 3rd prize of Rs. 1000. For Chakravyuh, there were total 79 particpants, 69 from BVUCOEP and 10 from other institutes. It was divided in categories of CAT, GMAT, GRE, TOEFL and GATE. For CAT 1st winner of Rs 1500 was Nupur Bihari from BVUCOEP and 2nd winner of Rs 1000 was Rachit Talwar from BVUCOEP. For GMAT 1st winner of Rs 1500 was Amit Kumar from BVUCOEP and 2nd winner of Rs 1000 was Rishabh Singh from BVUCOEP. For TOEFL 1st winner of Rs 1500 was Nitish Singhania from BVUCOEP and 2nd winner of Rs 1000 was Raunak Pandey from BVUCOEP. For GRE 1st winner of Rs 1500 was Govind Rathi from BVUCOEP and 2nd winner of Rs 1000 was Vaibhav Bajpai from BVUCOEP. For GATE 1st winner of Rs 1500 was Parteek Mehta from BVUCOEP and 2nd winner of Rs 1000 was Siddharth Grover from BVUCOEP.
Bio-Medical department had organized Conception. There were total 18 particpants, 13 from BVUCOEP and 5 from other institutes. Pratik More, Rahul Pagar, Pankaj Kadam, Kshitij and Jaidip from JSPM Narhe won 1st prize of Rs.3000. Reva Joshi, Sahil, Rhytm Vij, Vikas and Ishant from BVUCOEP won 2nd prize of Rs. 2000.
Art circle had organised gazal night, fashion show, Aarambh and cultural night. In Arambh there were total 18 particpants, 8 (1 team) from BVUCOEP and 10 (2 teams) from other institutes. The team of Dileep Tiwari, Sukhwinder,Shweta Patil, Sandeep, Zuber Sayyed, Sai , Jitendra wankhede,Anirudh, Akhtar from BMCC won 1st prize of Rs. 4000/- Team from BVUCOEP of Prakhar Singh, Aditya Agarwal, Abhay Choubey, Anukriti Pandey, Kanika Tandon, Arpit Johri, Kameshwar Choudhary, Ayush Sheopuri won 2nd Prize of Rs. 3000/-
Fashion show was an interdepartmental event in which 9 departments of BVUCOEP had participated. The first prize winner of Rs. 2000/- was the team from Production department comprising of Siddarth Sas, Ram Jyani, Siddarth Tripathi, Albin Seby, Abhishek Kesarkar, Dattatrey Tyagi, Abhishek, Viraj, Chandan, Manya, Damini Singh, Jayati .
