Speaking on the occasion of inauguration of Bharatiyam 2014, Dr. V. M. Pandharipande focused on inquisitiveness and dedication. While explaining it to students, he gave real life examples of many eminent personalities like Dr. Jagdishchandra Bose, Dr. Abdul Kalam, Lutz Mattner, etc. He said that, we should remember there is no direct relation between salary and satisfaction and hence we need to enjoy our work. Whatever work we do only for ourselves, without bothering for rewards, bossism or appreciation is professionalism. He concluded with a message to students that you must understand what is good for you and what is not good.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Ajay Bhandari, Associate Vice president, Infosys Ltd., said that Bharatiyam, pioneered by BVUCOE is an excellent opportunity to innovate and interact with each other and think of new possibilities. He said innovative and lateral thinking are valuable for industry and if we do not innovate then someone else will.
Bharati Vidyapeeth is celebrating its golden jubilee this year. To add to the festivity of golden jubilee, Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering (BVUCOE) today witnessed the enthralling start of its 25th annual national level techno-cultural fest Bharatiyam 2014. The Inaugural Ceremony on 21st feb 2014 witnessed the distinguished presence of Chairperson Dr. P. M. Bulakh, Director BCUD, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Chief Guest Dr. V. M. Pandharipande, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and Guest of Honour Mr. Ajay Bhandari, Associate Vice President, Infosys Ltd.
Dr. Anand Bhalerao, Principal BVUCOE and Chairman of Bharatiyam 2014 presented the introductory speech, in which he informed about the glorious tradition of Bharati Vidyapeeth University and the various noteworthy rankings and accreditations credited to University and BVUCOE for its quality education. Chair person Dr. P. M. Bulakh congratulated the students for their efforts. He also expressed his best wishes for the grand success of Bharatiyam.
The Chief guest and Guest of Honour then moved on to inaugurate the fascinating auto expo and various other technical events organized in the college. Students of BVUCOE also presented a very touching street play on women empowerment and violence against women. The photographs in photography exhibition and rangolis in rangoli competition were appreciated by all visitors.
This year Bharatiyam offered 17 technical contests and 6 cultural events scheduled on 21st and 22nd February 2014. Total of 3400 students from almost 60 colleges all over India, participated in these events. Organized by computer engineering department, Bargaingineers was s a management and designing based event, within which each participating team had to design the best possible cell phone within the given constraints of the game. The 1st prize winner, from a total of 150 participants of 20 colleges, was Abhishek Prashant from BVUCOE. Google-e was a search technique based technical event from the same department. The 1st prize winner, from a total of 150 participants of 20 colleges, was Akash Sood from BVUCOE. Proyecto and Tech-a-buzz were events by department of Information Technology. Proyecto was a Project presentation which brings out hidden skills and imagination to initiate a technical revolution whereas Tech-a- buzz was a Technical event, with flashback and modernization of technology nexus. 1st winner of Proyecto from 125 participating groups was Dnyanesh Jagadale from BVJNIOT and 1st winner of Tech a buzz from 145 participants was Ajinkya and Bhushan from DCOER. Events Rock The Block and Plan Your Home are based on the study and knowledge of stability and static equilibrium conditions and bring out the creativity of civil engineers. From 160 participants Aman Khan of BVUCOE won the 1st prize in Rock the Block and Ayush and Tejasvi of BVUCOE won 1st prize in Plan Your Home out of 124 participants. Electrical department’s Chakravyuh and Techno-Zeal were test of technical and soft skills acumen through the G.D and P.I round with aptitude test and technical quiz. From 180 participants Prateek, Ravi, Sumer, Naushad, Vaibhav, Jigar of BVUCOE won the 1st prize in Chakravyuh and out of 95 participants Harit and Tejaswini of VIT won 1st prize in Techno-Zeal. Chemical department had organized a national level paper presentation, Symposium having 96 participants, and Engg-O-Storm where 170 participants had to face the real industrial problems. Suyash Soni and Pranav of VIT won 1st prize in Symposium and Shivam awasthi of BVUCOE won 1st prize in Engg-o-storm. 110 Electronics engineering students mounted the given circuit on breadboard and debugged faulty circuits in Circuit Junkies and 135 students faced a technical quiz in Inquizzitive. Kshitih, Akash and Bhavik of BVUCOE won 1st prize in Inquizzitive and Viam and Aditya of Zeal polytechnic college won 1st prize in Circuit Junkies. E&TC department had organized a fun technical photography poster making competition Pic N Doodle having 70 participants and Out of the Box a test for presentation skills along with presence of mind with 115 participants. Himanshu of BVUCOE won 1st prize in Pic N Doodle and Aditya and Vimal of Dnyanganga COE won 1st prize in Out of the Box. Junkyard wars event by production engineering department was about building a mechanism out of scrap and junk provided and had total 75 participants, which was won by Rahul and Ravi of BVUCOEP. Also stealth robo was an event to check the stability and sensing capabilities of the robot in comparison with 100 opponents which was won by Rajeev, Amogh and Nandji of BVUCOE. Mechanical engineering department had organized Calamity Rush, where 110 participants had to build a robot capable of traversing various terrains and crevasses in a broken landscape. ---- of ---- won 1st prize in Calamity Rush.
Aarambh, a street play competition organized by Art circle had total 11 street play groups participating in it. 1st prize was won by group from College of Engineering Pune. The inter departmental fashion show was won by Computer Department. The gazal night on 21st was a feast for all music lovers. The cultural night comprising of singing, dancing, mimicry, drama and other art forms on 22nd, proved as a real enchanter for the audience.
